Irrational Fear/Phobia

Read what our clients are saying ...

“I initially sought Hypnotherapy to help overcome a fear I'd developed as an adult. The initial consultation was a beneficial experience. Jim made me feel safe and explained in detail what I could expect from Hypnotherapy. Through guided hypnosis, I became conscious that my fear and certain life choices stemmed from insecurity due to the pain of a previous relationship. After attend four sessions, I felt an incredible sense of relief.
Jim has those great qualities you look for in a Hypnotherapist knowledge, empathy, support and humor. I think it's rare to find someone who is genuine and that truly wants to help you. I highly recommend him!

I went to Bay Area Hypnotherapy to address an intense fear of flying.  I had literally tried everything else out there.  I found Jim Swearingen to be a comforting and very pragmatic counselor.  His coaching helped me find a way not to panic when I fly.  I do so now not without fear, but definitely in control of it.  I would recommend him to anyone trying to deal with an irrational fear issue.

HARNESS THE POWER OF YOUR MIND to create positive, permanent change. Reframe harmful attitudes and beliefs.

With hypnosis, you can access beliefs and attitudes in your subconscious mind which are negatively impacting your life,

Become empowered with a new calm and control within you.

Be amazed
at the new courage you have to confront what was formerly so feared!

Relax! You’re in good company. More people than you know are coping with an intense fear that has a significant impact on their lives.

Any irrational fear will seriously affect your family, your relationships, your career, your self-esteem and your ability to cope with life on every level. You don’t have to live like that!

These fears are deeply rooted in the beliefs and attitudes of your subconscious mind.
Your conscious mind can easily recognize an irrational fear as patently ridiculous and yet be powerless to overcome the fear and lead a normal life. Those experiencing irrational fear often feel hopeless and respond by severely restricting their lives, avoiding all places and situations that may trigger their fear.

You may not be able to identify your fear. If so, you are experiencing generalized anxiety. On the other hand, you may know exactly what makes you fearful (e.g. fear of flying, heights, closed places, bridges, insects, etc.).  Sometimes fear is rational and justified (for example, a dog rushing at you barking, with teeth bared and salivating). Using that example, if the dog is about to attack, fear is useful and you must act quickly. However, if you are afraid of all dogs under any and all situations, you would probably agree that your fear can be classified as irrational.

Whether your fear is generalized and cannot be named, or if it is specific and known to you, hypnotherapy can help you overcome your fear and live a normal, happy life.
